Client: Royal Mail
Location: Bristol Mail Centre
Work Done: Install Conveyor Electrical Supply
With all JMC engineers hold IPAF Cards to use scissor lifts, we hired the correct lift that would gain us height safely to work on the existing Galvanised cable tray that would hold the new 6mm 3core LSF SWA Cable.
Once the area was safely barriered off from any mail worker accessing the work area, we set up the cable drum roller and pulled in 60metre of LSF SWA cable and cable tied to the existing galvanised cable tray.
After the cable was installed from the existing distribution board to the point where it would drop down to the new conveyer commando socket, we then installed a 150mm x 150mm square channel support as approved by Royal Mail, the channel was fitted to the concrete floor with M10 Anchor bolts.
A 6mm catenary wire was fitted to the high level beam (next to the cable tray) and the newly installed 150mm x 150mm square channel, the new 6mm SWA cable was then cable tied to the catenary wire.
The 16amp single phase commando socket complete with 30ma RCD protection was installed on to the square channel with the SWA cable gland into the top of the commando socket.
On completion the circuit was tested and a NICEIC Electrical Installation Certificate was issued to the client.
The project was completed on time and to budget.
